Dozens of imported beers from Bud and Beck's to Tuborg and Stella Artois are sold in kiosks and shops. Even more unknown brands are bottled especially for the Russian market.
Draught Beer. A dozen or more different imported draught beers are now available in Moscow. Look for the name of the draught beer printed in "Times Roman font". See listings under

Russian Beer. Most Russian beer (pivo) is unpasteurized and should be enjoyed fresh and cold. Beer bars pull it from the keg. It's inexpensive and declared "excellent" by some cognoscenti and an "acquired taste" by others. According to our staff the best Russian beers in Moscow are: Tverskoe dark, Tverskoe prazdnichnoe dark, Hamovniki light, Tsar-pushka (Tsar-canon) light, Tverskoe light, Porter dark, Radonezh light, Ostankinskoe light; and the worst are: Yachmennyy kolos, Zhigulevskoe, Moskovskoe, Rizhskoe. But it depends of your taste. Taste and choose, and youll find we are probably right. Russian beverage bottles are recycled.
